Ralph "Bud" E. Thresher, 93, of Enfield, entered into Eternal Life on Sunday, September 9, 2018, in the comfort of his own home. He was born in Ware, MA on June 11, 1925, the loving son of the late Samuel and Grace (Bugbee) Thresher. During his career, he worked for Pilch's Egg Farm, owned and operated McCray's Garage and later retired after 31 years from Spazzarini Construction Company at the age of 75. Bud was proud of his dedicated service to the Enfield Fire Department District #1 where he volunteered for 26 years, retiring with the title of lieutenant. Bud was an avid gardener, and will be remembered for his pumpkin and rhubarb pies and baked beans. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his beloved family, especially at their summer cottage. Bud is survived by four children, Ron Thresher and his wife, Cynthia of Coventry, Jackie Thresher of Ellington, Jeanne Champagne and her husband, Steven of Enfield, and Bob Thresher of Enfield; a brother, Alan Thresher of Enfield; a sister, Janet Bennett of East Longmeadow; five grandchildren, Sara, Chris, Natalie, Matt, and Luke; four great grandchildren; and a dear friend, Maureen Mullen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Bud was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Joan (McCray) Thresher and by a brother, Samuel Sherman Thresher. Services have been entrusted to Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels.
