Obituary for Stephen M Cogtella Jr.

Print
Stephen Cogtella Jr. entered into eternal life on September 22, 2018. He graduated from Enfield High School and attended Asnuntuck Community College. Stephen had a love for music and was an extraordinary guitar player. Other passions included reading, poetry (especially William Blake and Carl Sandburg), and mixed martial arts. He participated in many tournaments, and in 1996 was awarded “outstanding youth black belt” from the American Okinawan Karate Association. He worked for several years in security at Bradley Field National Guard Air Force Base and Lego Toys.
The craving that comes from hidden addiction was greater than he could overcome. He leaves us with a feeling of loss knowing we will never see his smiling face again. He will be greatly missed, but his memory will endure.
Stephen leaves his father, Stephen Cogtella Sr.; his mother, Paula Vincenzo and her husband Mark; his daughters, Monroe and Brooklyn Cogtella, and their mother Stephanie Grabowski; his sister, Lisa Gallo and her husband George; his stepbrother, Anthony Vincenzo; his stepsister, Angela Vincenzo; his aunts, Cathy Carabase and her husband Paul Cichon, and Caroline Cogtella; his uncle, Freddy; his maternal grandmother, Beverly Pizzanello; and many cousins. Services will be private, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stephen M. Cogtella Jr. Memorial Fund, Attn: Mary Beth, United Bank, 231 Hazard Ave, Enfield, CT 06082. Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels has care of the arrangements.
