Obituary for Lisa Frances Leard

Lisa F. Leard, 61, of Southington, beloved wife to Eric Max, entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, October 14, 2018. She was born in Hartford on December 4, 1956, the loving daughter of Barbara (Bouchard) Leard and the late James Carl Leard. Lisa worked in the financial department at Pratt and Whitney before retiring after 35 years. She grew up in Enfield before later moving to Southington where she made her home. Lisa was very musically talented, playing the ukulele and the piano, as well as other instruments. She loved to travel, especially long road trips. Along with her husband, Eric, she was able to see a good portion of the United States. Lisa loved to attend sheep and wool festivals and raised and showed Mini Rex Rabbits. She enjoyed keeping up with technology and computers. Above all, Lisa's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Eric Max, Lisa is survived by her mother, Barbara (Bouchard) Leard of Enfield; a brother, David Leard and his wife, Marilyn Vencel of Litchfield; a stepdaughter, Julia B. Max of Boston; nieces and nephews Michael Leard and his wife, Lauren, Melanie Kalpakoglou and her husband, Bill, and Amy Leard; her mother-in-law, Susanne Max of Queenstown, MD; brothers-in-law, Peter Max, Jr and his partner, Mai Kim Truong of Fairfax, VA and Gregg Max and his wife, Doreen of Sparks, NV. Lisa is also survived by her longtime best friend, Judy Dastych and her husband, John. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT. A procession will gather at the funeral home on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 9:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial is to be celebrated at 10:00 am at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield, CT. Burial will follow at Hazardville Cemetery. Donations in memory of Lisa may be made to the Carole and Neag Cancer Center, 263 Farmington Ave #2875, Farmington, CT 06030.
